SiteSync makes sure that only files which are new or changed are transferred, and through the two-step procedure and the flexible filter rules, you can leave out unwanted files very easily, to make the sync process both safe and fast.

  Excluding both files and folders is very easy with SiteSync. For each site you can define an unlimited set of exclusion rules, using exact matches, wildcards or even regular expression based matching. For instance, you can exclude all image files, or all folders with a specific name. With the combination of both exact and fuzzy matches, the possibilities are endless, and SiteSync comes with a cool Wildcard/Regex test tool, which will allow you to test new rules up against your site structure simply by typing in the rule and watching it visually being applied to the site.

  If you need to make modifications to some of your files before synchronizing, SiteSync can help you with that. The mini editor is a comfortable place to work, with a minimalistic interface, which supports advanced stuff like syntax highlighting, CodeFolding, split view editing and much more. At any time you may click the save button - if you're editing a local file, it will simply be saved, and if you're editing a remote file, the changes will of course be uploaded. As simple as that!

  With SiteSync, you can visually compare the local and remote version of a file with a single click. SiteSync will show you which lines differ, which lines only exist in one of the files and so on. Therefore it comes with a fully featured FTP client (it supports the FTPS and SFTP standards too!), allowing you to do some manual work, when syncing the entire site is not appropriate. You may edit both local and remote files with a single click from the FTP client, or make a visual comparison between a local and a remote file.   Did you ever worry about using an application for synchronizing your websites because of the danger of overwriting files you didn't want to overwrite? No need to worry anymore, because with SiteSync, we have gone into great effort to make sure that no errors are made. The synchronization procedure is a two-step process, where files and folders are presented in two different ways, allowing you to check things thoroughly before the actual transfer starts. Besides that, you may always disable either uploading or downloading of files for your website, to make sure that no matter what happens, only files in either the local or the remote location are overwritten. In SiteSync, no transfers are performed without giving you the opportunity to exclude files from the transfer list!

  With SiteSync your files are synchronized both ways, unless you don't want it to. You can choose between only uploading files, only downloading files, or doing both, based on the comparison SiteSync makes before syncing. Doing two way synchronizations are especially useful if you're not the only one working on the site, so you may get the changes performed by other members of the team.

  Before syncing your site, TSW SiteSync will do a complete comparison and show you the result with various color codes for a better overview. You will be able to see which files are only present either local or remotely, and which are newer than the others. Already at this stage, you will be able to remove files that you would like to keep out of the synchronization - either permanently or for this sync only.

• Watch mode
  
  After each synchronization, SiteSync can go into watch mode, monitoring your filesystem for changes in the local root folder as well as subfolders of it. Whenever a file is created or modified, SiteSync adds it to a list of files to transfer. When you feel like publishing your changes, you can do so by a single click! The Watch mode can also be activated manually, and supports auto-sync, which will upload your files immediately, as soon as they are changed locally. Combine this option with the Minimize to tray feature, and SiteSync will act as a non-visible mirror, where all your local changes are instantly mirrored to your remote server.
