TSW WebCoder 2009 final beta 3 released
March 1, 2009
Yet another beta version has landed, and it seems that we're getting really close to a final, stable release, because the amount of bugs reported have dropped dramatically. Please download the latest beta version and be sure to report any problems you might find.
As stated in a previous post, I would like to give away a free commercial TSW WebCoder 2009 license to the 5 most active betatesters once the final version has been released. I hope that this will motivate you even more, so that the final product can be as bug free as possible!
Download TSW WebCoder 2009 final beta 3 - please provide feedback in the beta forum
In case you're wondering what's new in WebCoder 2009, I urge you to read all the posts I have written on the progress of this new version. They will give you a lot of details on most of the new functionality. For a complete list of blog posts, use this link.
Please be aware that this is beta software. It's meant for testing only, and if you don't feel comfortable using software with known bugs and quirks, you might want to wait for the final version, although this beta version is pretty darn close :)
Hi Kasper,
is there a time table when WebCoder 2009 will be released?
Some Feedback:
1. There is still no comfortable way to convert special chars to html entity
2. If you type the double-qoute twice in “php mode” WC recognize that and just replaces the cursor, but in “html mode” WC add the double-qoutes (see here what i mean: http://screencastle.com/watch/8561c3647a67a54d6589163717d86455)
3. The search box always appears on top left. thats bad if you you a big monitor because then the search box is without the editor. The box should remember the last position.
HTH
PS: Is that enough to win? :)

I just did a bunch of work using beta final 2. I had no problems and it helped clean
up my existing html. I do have one question about the preview function.
I am using an external file for the style sheet. The preview function (F12) does not
work, nothing happens. This also happens in WebCoder 2007. I assume that is because
the preview function cannot read the CSS file. However, once the preview function fails
it will not work again. In my policy work (online school policies), I have two html
files for each policy being updated: 1) the policy marked “work-in-process” and 2)
a policy checklist file that summarizes the changes (if any) made to the policy. The
policies use an external CSS but the policy checklist does not. When I am creatin
the checklist the preview function does not work, especially after I have tried it
while updating the policy itself. Is there a success/fail switch in the preview
function? If so, how do I reset it?
Beta final 2 worked fine.

Hi Heiko,
Yes, WebCoder 2009 will be released within the next 30 days, unless something unexpected turns up :)
Please use the forum for any beta feedback, so that we can all discuss it in the same place. As you can see, a bunch of people have already posted quite a bit of feedback in there :). I would really appreciate that.

Hi Jan,
Are you saying that this is an issue introduced in final beta 3 and that it worked fine in final beta 2? That would surprise me a bit, since I didn’t make any vital changes to the preview functionality from FB2 to FB3. Anyway, please post details in the forum about the files you are working with, how they link to your style sheet, how it looks when it doesn’t work and which preview browser you are using (IE/FF or both). Thank you :)
